Collaborative Pianist Services

My work as a collaborative pianist is rooted in building meaningful musical partnerships with instrumentalists and vocalists, and I am grateful for the opportunities to play repertoire spanning both instrumental and vocal music. My love for playing with other musicians began during my undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, shaped by the sonata and song repertoire classes. This has led me to pursue a graduate degree in Accompanying and Chamber Music at the Eastman School of Music, where I had the privilege to dive deep into the world of collaboration alongside inspiring colleagues, performers, teachers, and mentors.

I approach collaboration as an ongoing musical conversation and enjoy working with musicians at all stages—supporting students as they prepare for lessons, competitions, and auditions, and partnering with professional performers in recitals, recordings, and other concert settings.

Since fall 2025, I have joined the collaborative pianist rosters for the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto and the Glenn Gould School in Toronto. For auditions at these institutions or other professional engagements, please contact me through the form on this website or directly at gihylee.03@gmail.com.

Notes for Audition Season 2026

Preparing for an audition can feel intense, and my goal is to help make the process as calm, organized, and musically satisfying as possible. The more information you share ahead of time, the better we can use our rehearsal time together and the more confidently you can walk into your audition.

  • When you reach out, it’s helpful if you can include:

  1. your audition repertoire,

  2. your ideal amount of rehearsal time, and

  3. your audition location, date and time.

  • If possible, please also share PDFs of your scores in advance with any markings that reflect your musical intentions.

For vocalists: translations, breath marks, and any expressive or pacing preferences you’d like me to know.

For instrumentalists: any specific choices you want to highlight for the audition—such as timing, dynamics, articulation, or character—are always welcome.

These details allow me to prepare thoughtfully and support you in presenting your best, most confident performance. I look forward to working with you and being part of your audition journey!
